  • Making very, very, very sure!

An apostille itself is already a “safeguard” for a document. With a certified translation of the apostille, you’re absolutely on the safe side if you have to show the document to a foreign authority. At Beglaubigung24, we translate and certify your apostille – and in such a way that it will definitely be accepted abroad. By the way: As a general rule, the document associated with the apostille should also be a certified translation in order to be recognised by offices and authorities. We offer certified translations for birth certificates, marriage certificates and many other types of documents. Simply select, add to your cart, and order all translations at the same time.

This is how fast and easy you can get your certified translation of your apostille:

1. Upload your apostille and choose language

Simply upload an apostille at the top of this page – ideally as a high-resolution PDF or alternatively as a clearly legible JPG or PNG. If you haven’t scanned in the original yet, you can also simply take a quick photo of the document during the ordering process. Just open this website on your smartphone or tablet, then snap a photo of the original while placing your order. All you have to do after that is select the original language and the target language, and you’re (nearly) good to go.

2. Add your order to your shopping cart or use Quick Checkout to complete your order

Either send your order directly with a few clicks via Quick Checkout or order through the shopping cart. This is where you place your order and, if relevant, add further translation orders via our store. Once you have added everything to your shopping cart, select your preferred payment method (e.g. PayPal or credit card), provide us with your contact details, and submit your order(s).

3. Get a certified translation of your apostille

You’re all set now – we’ll take over from here. We’ll forward your order to our sworn translators, who will in turn prepare a certified translation of the apostille in the desired target language. The translation features proof of certification in the form of a stamp and signature. We will then send you this translated document as a PDF to your email address. A hard copy will also be sent to your home address. And if you’re happy with our work, we’d love you to give us a positive review.

Frequently asked questions about apostille translations

Why do I need a certified translation for my apostille?

An apostille is an official document that verifies the authenticity of a certificate. In order for it to be accepted by foreign authorities and offices, it should therefore be certified after translation. This certified translation is officially valid and appropriately stamped to confirm that the original text has been completely and properly translated. As a result, it is usually recognised by all offices and authorities abroad.

Where can I get an apostille translated?

You can obtain a certified translation of an apostille from a specialised translation agency. These agencies work with trained and authorised translators, who translate and certify your official documents. Beglaubigung24 specialises in exactly this type of translation and translates and certifies all kinds of documents – from apostilles to certificates. Important: We are happy to translate your existing apostille, but we are not allowed to issue apostilles for documents or certified translations.

How much does the certified translation of an apostille cost?

We can provide you with a certified translation of your apostille starting at €53.90. The translation is carried out by our sworn translators, who are state-examined and have taken an oath before a court or an authority for domestic affairs. Shipping (a PDF by email and a hard copy by post) is also included in the cost. The price may change depending on the language combination.

Which languages are available for the translation of my apostille?

At Beglaubigung24 you can order certified translations in 19 language combinations. One of the two languages, i.e. the source or target language, should be German.

Our language combinations are:

German - English

French - German

When do I need to have an apostille translated?

An apostille usually only has to be translated if there is a requirement to present a certified translation of a document (including apostille) to an authority or office in a non-EU country. The decisive factor is usually whether the country of issue and the country of destination are part of the Hague Convention. As a general rule, apostilles do not have to be translated within the EU, but it is best to ask the competent authority in good time whether you A) need an apostille at all and B) whether it has to be translated with certification.

How do I set the number of pages?

A single page means one side of one sheet of paper – irrespective of the number of words on that page. The front and back sides of a double-sided document are considered two separate pages. All relevant pages in the original document are counted for the translation. The ‘number of pages’ comprises the total number of individual pages. Learn more here.

Will my data and information contained in the documents be kept confidential?

Of course, we handle all data we receive from you or from your documents with the utmost confidentiality - you can be sure of that! Because: In addition to certifications for translation services (ISO 17100) and quality management (ISO 9001), our service has an excellent information security management system according to ISO/IEC 27001.

  • Let’s tackle one very basic question before we go any further: What is an apostille? An apostille is a certificate of authenticity for international document transactions and is often also referred to as an “overauthentication”. It is only ever issued in combination with an official or public document and confirms the authenticity of the signature or stamp affixed to the document. An apostille is always referred to as a Hague Apostille because the countries in which the document is issued are members of the Hague Convention. You can only obtain an apostille from the authority or court by which the corresponding document was drawn up. As a translation agency, we therefore cannot issue you an apostille – but we can translate and certify your existing apostille.

  • When do I need a certified translation of my apostille?

An apostille is already accepted in its existing form and language in all countries that are party to the Hague Convention – generally all EU countries. For example, if you are moving from one EU country to another, it is usually sufficient to submit the original without a translation. However, you may still find yourself needing a certified translation of the apostille for an authority abroad. This is often the case when you have to show a German document in another country that is not a member of the EU. The document might only be accepted by the non-EU country when accompanied by an official translation. Similarly, it may be the case that a foreign document can only be recognised by a German authority once it has been translated and certified. In any case, we recommend that you check in advance with the competent authority as to whether you need to submit a certified translation of your apostille in addition to your document.
