Frequently asked questions about translations of certificates

Why do I need a certified translation for my certificate?

A certificate – no matter what kind – is an official document that must be certified in translation in order to be recognised by authorities abroad. The certified translation is prepared by sworn translators and verified with a signature and a stamp. This means that the translated document also has official validity in a new language and is usually accepted internationally by offices, authorities and courts.

Where can I have a certificate translated?

You can get a professional document translation with certification from a specialised translation agency. These agencies work with sworn translators to translate your document or certificate. They are specially trained, have taken an oath before a provincial court, a higher regional court or an authority for domestic affairs and are officially allowed to translate documents and certificates as well as verify the translation with a certification.

How much does the certified translation of a certificate cost?

Beglaubigung24 can provide you with a certified translation of your certificate for a price starting at €53.90. The price for a certified or official translation of a document depends mainly on the language combination chosen. The number of pages has no influence on the cost; the preparation of the translation by our authorised translators is already included in all our prices.

Which languages are available for the translation of my certificate?

At Beglaubigung24 you can order certified translations in 19 language combinations. One of the two languages, i.e. the source or target language, should be German.

Our language combinations are:

German - English
English - German
French - German
Spanish - German
Russian - German
Italian - German
Polish - German
Portuguese - German
Turkish - German
German - French
German - Spanish
Greek - German
Dutch - German
Ukrainian - German
Bosnian - German
Serbian - German
Croatian - German
Arabic - German
Bulgarian - German

Who translates and certifies my certificate?

To ensure that it is also recognised by the competent authorities abroad, only sworn translators translate your document. In our case, in Germany, these are sworn translators who have taken a general oath before a regional or higher regional court or an authority for domestic affairs. They are certified and authorised to translate and certify content in specific languages.

How do I set the number of pages?

A single page means one side of one sheet of paper – irrespective of the number of words on that page. The front and back sides of a double-sided document are considered two separate pages. All relevant pages in the original document are counted for the translation. The ‘number of pages’ comprises the total number of individual pages. Learn more here.

Will my data and information contained in the documents be kept confidential?

Of course, we handle all data we receive from you or from your documents with the utmost confidentiality - you can be sure of that! Because: In addition to certifications for translation services (ISO 17100) and quality management (ISO 9001), our service has an excellent information security management system according to ISO/IEC 27001.

  • There are several potential situations where a certificate in the original language would not be sufficient. A court of law or other authority abroad, for example. As a general rule, everything has to be very official in this type of context – even translations. Both foreign and German authorities generally only recognise certificates and other documents from another country if they have been translated and certified. This may be the case if you want to get married abroad or are moving from or to another country and need to submit your personal documents. No matter what your focus is, we recommend that you find out well in advance which documents will need to be translated (certified) and which rules apply in the respective country. By the way, we only have one rule when it comes to translations: Either the source or the target language of the translation must be German. We can translate your foreign-language certificate into German or your German certificate into English, Spanish and many other languages.

  • Joyful or tragic – translations for documents of all kinds

When you say the word “certificate”, many people will think of an award. Maybe you’ve successfully taken part in a competition, passed your university exams or completed a professional development course and received a certificate for it. But certificates are also often simply just official documents recording factual information. They can be for joyful occasions – such as a wedding or the birth of a child – or less joyful ones, such as divorce or death. In countries abroad, the relevant documents are often only recognised by the competent authority when there is also a certified translation. And that’s where we come in: We’ll translate and certify your birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce certificates, death certificates and all other types of documents!

  • Your certificate translation is secure – thanks to our qualifications

A certificate normally only needs to be translated for official (and thus very important) matters. The excellent quality of our translations is particularly important to us and we ensure this quality on several levels. For example, we work exclusively with sworn translators who are state-certified. In addition, we have triple ISO certification: for our translation services (ISO 17100:2015), our quality management (ISO-9001:2015) and our information security (ISO/IEC 27001:2013).

  • What type of official documents can I have translated?

No matter the occasion, you can have all types of official documents translated at Beglaubigung24. Translation of the following official documents are requested the most:

    - Birth certificates
    - Marriage certificates
    - Divorce certificates
    - Death certificates

Do you need another official document translated? No problem. Simply and quickly upload the document at the top of this page and submit your order for a certified translation in just a few clicks.

  • When do I need a certified translation of an official document?

A certified translation of an official document is required in a variety of situations. Foreign agencies and public authorities usually require a certified translation of official documents. Maybe you want to move abroad, get married and/or work there. Depending on the occasion, different certificates such as a birth certificate or marriage certificate need to be translated. A certified translation of a divorce certificate is also frequently required if it’s not your first time getting married.
