Frequently asked questions about document translations

Why do I need a certified translation of my document?

A certificate – regardless of type – is an official document that should be certified and translated to be recognized by foreign authorities. The certified translation is prepared by sworn translators and verified with a signature and a stamp. This ensures that the translated document has official validity in the new language and is generally accepted internationally by offices, authorities, and courts.

Where can I get a document translated?

You can obtain a professional certified translation from a specialized translation agency. Here, sworn translators translate documents and certificates. These translators are specially trained, have taken an oath before a regional court, higher regional court, or internal authority, and are officially authorized to translate documents and certificates and verify the translation with a certification.

How much does a certified translation of a document cost?

You can get your document translated and certified at Beglaubigung24 starting from €53.90. The price for a certified or official translation of a document depends primarily on the chosen language combination. The number of pages does not affect the cost, and the translation by our sworn translators is included in all prices.

Into which languages can I have my certificate translated?

At Beglaubigung24 you can order certified translations in 19 language combinations. One of the two languages, i.e. the source or target language, should be German.

Our language combinations are:

German - English
English - German
French - German
Spanish - German
Russian - German
Italian - German
Polish - German
Portuguese - German
Turkish - German
German - French
German - Spanish
Greek - German
Dutch - German
Ukrainian - German
Bosnian - German
Serbian - German
Croatian - German
Arabic - German
Bulgarian - German

Who will translate and certify my document?

To ensure your document is recognized by the relevant authorities abroad, only sworn translators should translate it. These are (in our case, in Germany) certified translators who have taken a general oath before a regional court, higher regional court, or internal authority. They are certified and authorized to translate and authenticate documents into specific languages.

How do I set the number of pages?

A single page means one side of one sheet of paper – irrespective of the number of words on that page. The front and back sides of a double-sided document are considered two separate pages. All relevant pages in the original document are counted for the translation. The ‘number of pages’ comprises the total number of individual pages. Learn more here.

Will my data and information contained in the documents be kept confidential?

Of course, we handle all data we receive from you or from your documents with the utmost confidentiality - you can be sure of that! Because: In addition to certifications for translation services (ISO 17100) and quality management (ISO 9001), our service has an excellent information security management system according to ISO/IEC 27001.

  • There are several situations where a document in its original language is insufficient. This is often the case with courts and authorities abroad. Official procedures are generally required – even for translations. Both foreign and German authorities typically only recognize certificates and other documents from another country if they are translated and certified. This might be the case if you want to get married abroad or are moving to or from another country and need to submit your personal documents. Whatever the reason, we recommend that you find out well in advance of any official dealings which documents need to be (certified) translated and what regulations apply in the respective country.

We have only one rule regarding translations: either the source or target language of the translation must be German. We translate your foreign document into German and your German document into English, Spanish, and many other languages.

  • From joyful to sad – translations for all types of documents

When most people think of a certificate, they immediately think of an award. You've successfully participated in a competition, completed your studies, or finished professional development training and received a certificate for it. Often, however, certificates are simply official documents that record a fact. There are happy occasions like a birth or a wedding, and there are less happy occasions like a divorce or a death. Abroad, the corresponding documents are often only recognized by the relevant authorities with a certified translation. And that's where we come in: We translate and certify your birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, death certificates, and all other types of certificates!

  • Your document translation is secure - thanks to our awards

A document typically only needs to be translated for official (i.e., important) matters. Therefore, the excellent quality of our translations is of paramount importance to us, and we ensure this through multiple means. Firstly, we work exclusively with state-certified and sworn translators. Secondly, we hold triple ISO certification – for our translation services (ISO 17100:2015), our quality management (ISO 9001:2015), and our information security (ISO/IEC 27001:2013).

  • Which documents can I have translated?

No matter the occasion – at Betreuigung24 you can translate all types of documents. The most frequently requested are:

    - Birth certificates
    - Marriage certificates
    - Divorce certificates
    - Death certificates

Do you need a different document translated? No problem. Simply upload the document quickly and easily at the top of this page and order a certified translation in just a few clicks.

  • When do I need a certified translation of a document?

You may need to have a document officially translated in various situations. Most often, it's foreign offices and authorities that require a certified translation. Perhaps you want to move abroad, get married, and/or work there. Depending on the reason, different documents will need to be translated, for example, your birth certificate or marriage certificate. If you're not marrying for the first time, a certified translation of your divorce decree is often also necessary.
